Welcome to the first edition of the Lympstone Band Newsletter
For those who met us for the first time at the Classics Galore concert in the Great Hall, Exeter, I hope you will agree with us that is was a fantastic evening and very successful raising £14,000 for the FORCE charity.
After a busy Christmas the band is now working hard on the test piece for the National Qualifiers Contest which will be held at the Riviera Centre in Torquay on Saturday 13th March, this is a great day out for all of you who enjoy brass bands with more than 20 bands from the South West competing in all sections over the weekend. If you would like a taster to see how we are getting on, disasters and all..., we will be holding an open rehearsal on Monday 8th March from 8pm onwards at our band room in Lympstone village. It would be lovely to see any of you, just drop in anytime during the evening.
Following the contest we are looking forward to recording a new CD of music old and new and we will let you know details hot off the press when it has been completed.
If all of this wasn't enough the band are flying the Lympstone flag abroad in June by joining many other bands at the French Open contest in Amboise in the Loire Valley.
So wish us luck with all the above and it would be great to see any of you on the 8th March (Lympstone Band Centre, formally the Methodist Church).
