Flugel Horn - Fran Bowman

Fran moved to Exeter from Derbyshire in 2006 to study for her PGCE. She has since completed that and started a new job in Heathcoat Primary School, Tiverton in September 2007. She has played for Gresley Colliery band where she held the position of Principal Cornet.

Flugel Horn/Horn/Cornet - Alli Northcott email

Alli "chose brass cos it chose me" discovered brass bands during her university days in Plymouth. She joined RBL in 1995 after playing the trumpet in a wind band. Moving to Lympstone in 2004, Alli became the band's new Soprano player, bringing her fidgeting and competiveness with her. Alli is arguably the fittest member of the band as a semi-professional athlete. This commitment now prevents her from rehearsing with the band as much as she would like, but is happy to play anything that is needed!

Solo Horn - Shelia Vodden

Sheila, wife of Paul on Cornet and mother of Hannah on Trombone was persuaded to join us a few years ago for a contest on 2nd Horn and has never looked back. She has made her way up the ranks and is currently on Solo Horn. Sheila has previously played for Crediton Town Band and The City of Exeter Railway Band.

1st Horn - Mike Clarke

Having joined us on Solo Cornet in 2003, Mike has moved through Flugel and onto the Horn ranks. Mike used to be a Submariner and currently lives in Saltash and travels the furthest to band!

2nd Horn - Jan Wallis - Chairperson email

Jan is a retired Headteacher and has recently started a part time job at an animal shelter. She tells us she only took up the Horn after watching Brassed Off and being persuaded by friends to join the beginners band. She admits the decision was swayed with a drink in her hand!

2nd Horn - Annabelle Grose

Annabelle is a Primary School Deputy Headteacher at Charmouth in Dorset. She joined the band whilst at University at Rolle College, Exmouth but is currently taking a back step and helping out on 2nd Horn when she is needed. (That's all the time!)

Jonathan Tribble - Treasurer

(Jonathan is currently unable to play with us due to ill health, but we hope he'll be back soon!) Jonathan in fact was the bands Flugel player for many years before moving to Horn where he has excelled himself as a player. He is also our extremely good Band Treasurer!
