Cornets

	Principal Cornet - Tim Gittins email Tim is a Primary School teacher and only moved to Devon in 2006. Before that, he played for the Rogerstone Band in South Wales. He has played in most positions in the cornet section and has also played at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall. One of the highlights of his playing career is playing at the French Open in Amboise, something he is trying to persuade Lympstone to do soon! Tim now lives in Lympstone and helps with the conducting of the Training Band.
	Soprano Cornet - Paul Luford Paul is a Colour Sergeant in the Royal Marines and is currently based in Portsmouth as the Clarinet and Cornet tutor for the School of Music. He is married to Claire on Euphonium and their youngest daughter plays Solo Cornet in the Training Band.
	Solo Cornet - Trevor Naughton Trev is currently serving in the Royal Marines as a musician in the Plymouth Band. Trevor has previously played with Lympstone Band and has recently conducted the Torbay Brass Band. He joined the band in 2007 because he wanted to return to playing.
	Solo Cornet - Jonathan Roberts Jon joined the band at the end of 2007 having had a break from playing after leaving the Royal Marines. He is now a heating engineer.
	Solo Cornet - Tom Harris Tom joined the band on the back row shortly after the Area Contest in 2007. He has since moved onto the front row and he certainly has risen to the challenge. Tom has previously played for Sidmouth Town Band.
	Repiano Cornet - Helen Brocklebank Helen is one of the longest servicing band members and is very committed to the band. Whatever we do Helen will always be there. Helen's husband, Colin is also our number one fan! He also is an accompished musician who will always give us help with conducting and advice.
	2nd Cornet - Paul Vodden - Publicity Officer Paul is a very accomplished player and his talents are extremely useful on the back row, 'right or wrong play it strong', right Paul? Paul is married to Sheila on Solo Horn and their daughter Hannah plays Trombone.

	3rd Cornet - Liz Courts Liz joins us from St. Agnes band and has recently graduated from Rolle College in Exmouth with a BA in Music. Liz is a committed member of the band who will also help other bands, especially the Cornish ones! Liz intends to continue the student life with her friends, as they have one more year left, whilst doing a bit of work selling kitchens!
	3rd Cornet - Vacancy
	3rd Cornet - Brad Hancox Brad is currently Principal Cornet for the Training Band and joins us on 3rd Cornet. His first concert with the senior band was at the Great Hall in Exeter in November 2007. Brad has also recently passed his grade 4.
Spare Cornets:
Keith Gibson (Gibby) Keith who was previously Principal Cornet of the band took a step down and helps out when he can. He is also a member of the Salvation Army Band.
John Reeves John, who was previously Principal Cornet is currently on a break from the band having moved temporarily. John, is one of our more experienced players, having played with the HM Forces - Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, William Davies Construction Band and Torbay band. John is very selective with his taste in music!
Roger Riggs - Training Band Conductor Roger produces his prowess as much as his company and family give him time to, but when he's there he's a valued player and great asset. His children are avid musicians too and in no doubt will be shining as much as he!
